Internet Marketing Guru Shoemoney Gives it Away?

Shoemoney, aka: Jeremy Schoemaker announced recently that instead of releasing a book, he will offer a 12-week free internet marketing program filled with great content that he’s learned over the years.

If you’re not familiar with Shoe, he has an amazing 12-year history of internet marketing projects and he’s had some phenomenal successes.

I joined the program because, even though I know a lot – nobody knows it all. There are so many areas of specialization one can move toward and master online. Shoe and I are in different areas completely. For myself, I’m great at starting small – micro sites, ramping them up – and selling them. Shoe did really well with the ringtone market – he was killing it for years. Recently I met a guy that had whole websites dedicated to MySpace backgrounds. He was crushing it too.

You should join Shoe’s free internet marketing program too, just to see if there’s something in it for you. I’m going to guess that Shoe’s target audience – his visitors to his site, are different from my core visitors here at Inc. Answers. Here at Inc. Answers I want to give you the jump-start into internet marketing – taking you from no knowledge to mastery of whatever niche you decide to play in.

shoe-courseI’m guessing Shoe’s program won’t be basic enough for many people, but, join anyway and save whatever information you get for use in the future after you’ve learned a lot more.

Let me know how things are going after you’re into the program. I’ll share my thoughts as I go through it as well.

Oh, here’s an interesting podcast at Yaro Starak’s site. It’s an interview he did with Jeremy about how he got where he is today. It’s a very interesting story. The download is 106MB but even with relatively slow connection I have it was well worth the effort to grab it.

Online Business: 2-3 Year Plan

The future of your online business - what does it look like?

The future of your online business - what does it look like?

I was writing a friend about what I’m planning over the next few years with online business and I thought I should share with you why I’m thinking about 2+ years into the future and not today.

Domains – websites – are taking a couple of years to get going well and to build up the trust that Google needs to have in them to really start grabbing top search engine ranking. I’ve found consistently that domains I have over 2 years really start to jump in the rankings.

That doesn’t mean that all domains jump at 2 years. There needs to be a website in place. Your site needs to have quality pages with unique information about whatever niche you’re focused on. There needs to be some kind of progression over the years – additions of new content… maintenance… links from other sites gradually adding up over the 2 years. If you do these things then in two years your site will be able to start competing with websites that have been around for 10 years or more. There are these small Google trust levels that continue to build over the life of your site and that you’ll really see start to kick in at 1 yr., 2 yrs., 3 yrs. and so on.

So, it’s necessary to start thinking now about where you want your online business focus to be in 2 or 3 years. What space do you want to compete in? Is this a space that’s able to take advantage of all the social media changesĀ  taking place? Recent changes like – social media tools becoming important to your website ranking. How often links to your site get passed around on Twitter or Facebook is becoming important.

What about multimedia? Will you be able to add substantial amounts of video to a site with your chosen focus? Can your site be viewed on a mobile phone? There are a lot of considerations when looking at a business for the future. The ideal business is one you can really capitalize on and that will take advantage of the changes that are coming.

For myself I know that I want to be very entrenched in the online business start-up space. I want people to know that I’m a no-hype mentor for helping entrepreneurs start their ebusiness and growing it to successful levels. I want to give people the skills they need to create a very successful ebusiness, with the realistic outlook of it being great within 2-3 years, not 2-3 months. I’m big on reality.

That said, there are things you can do to become wildly successful before that. It takes a huge amount of work and most people aren’t dedicated enough to make it happen. Most think they can – and so when they start their ebusiness they give it an all out effort for a couple months… 6 months… even a year. When they aren’t enjoying ridiculous levels of success they move onto something else – whatever the online marketing gurus are pushing at the time.

Where do you want to be in two or three years?

IA Focus: Online Training. Create your Online Business.

The entire focus of this website is online training – creating your own online business in whatever niche that interests you – that you’re passionate about.

My idea is that every visitor to this site has already been assaulted with the junk that’s online.

The Problem with Finding Good Training to Help You Start Your Online Business:

There is a large mass of online marketers that are offering online training courses about how to create a successful online business and they’re not helping but a few people that could have made it happen on their own anyway.

Online marketing professionals today are interested primarily in one thing – making quick cash and giving little in real value in return. It isn’t that these people aren’t competent – many of them ARE very competent. They COULD help if they wanted to. Their focus is helping themselves make money online by promoting ideas that sound good – that market online successfully and that get people emotional about reaching their online business dream.

They’re selling dreams.

Unfortunately for you – you don’t really see an alternative. You’ve probably asked yourself… “How do I choose from all the online marketing systems and online professionals out there?” They all seem the same. There’s a good reason for that – they are the same. Well, more specifically their focus of making themselves money is the same.

I created this site as an alternative to the junk I see online. Sure I want to make money. But, I’m already in a position where I’m not aiming for making another couple thousand dollars per month income to quit my ‘other’ job. There is no other job. This is it. I’ve been doing online marketing successfully for 12 years. If I make any more money than what I’m already making that will be great. My real focus is helping other people get somewhere with their dream of online business success.

It’s an amazing feeling to not have to work today if I choose not to. 95% of the time I still do though! This Friday I’m going on a trip because my wife is going to a distant town to see a friend. I decided to go too and make it a weekend so I can re-visit this great Buddhist temple in the same area… maybe get some video and photos for one of my other sites.

I guess you could say that’s part of my ‘work’. If you enjoy it that much though – is it work?

Creating your own online business is not difficult. Creating an online business that works and that supports you and your family even during a recession is more difficult. Is it impossible? No. I could name 30 people I know that are doing it now already.

Can YOU do it? Now that’s the question we both have isn’t it?

I’m in the process of creating some online training for literally anyone that wants to taste the dream of online success.

I’m approaching it differently from how most internet ‘experts’ approach it though. I’m assuming you know very little. I’m going to share everything I know that you need to know to start your online business, incorporate it, and market your business online successfully.

The goal of the training is that by the time you’re finished you know all the pieces of the puzzle and can create a solution, an ebusiness that works. That prospers.

What is Inc. Answers About?

incanswers

Here’s an interesting free service that attempts to show in graphical form what a website or group of words is all about. It’s a text cloud that shows frequently used words in IncAnswers.com as larger and less frequently used words as smaller. The most common English words were removed from the result.

Actually I’ll do my own list of what this site is about… without looking at the above and see how it compares…

1. eBusiness

2. eMarketing

3. eSales, eCommerce

4. Helping people create a new business.

5. eLearning, ebusiness training courses.

6. Online tools, Web 2.0, Social media tools.

Doesn’t match up all that well but maybe you’ll have a different result? The site is Wordle.net. You can paste a url in or even a block of text. Try it out. You can change the fonts to any of 20+ types, color scheme, shape of the cloud, etc.

Starting an EBusiness? Don’t Do This…

I accept small projects when it’s to my advantage and when I think I can do something for the entrepreneur. Recently I faced a tough call.

In this case it was a company I’ve worked with in the past that wanted me to optimize a site for Google that they had designed. The owner of this site wanted to try out his business idea.

I looked at the site and told my friend – it won’t work. The idea was lame. SUPER lame… and the site was not well designed. The idea was not well thought through. There was a need for a site like this – but nobody would pay for the information like this owner wanted. Basically he wanted someone to pay him $25.00 if they had a question they needed answered about Thailand.

Now, it’s difficult to find good information in Thailand but, it’s not $25.00 difficult. In Thailand $25.00 can almost buy you breakfast for a month.

Anyway. So, I told them what I thought. He said the guy really wants to try it and see what happens. He said the owner was committed to pay me $300 per month for 3 months and he wanted to try it and see some results and then would continue from there.

I said honestly, “In 3 months there will be little to no results on the SEO/Google side of things.”

They didn’t care – the guy wanted me to try… I faced a moral dilemma because realistically, logically there would be no gains in 3 months. Pagerank might go up to 1 or 2. The site would be spidered, there would be a few people going there but not many from Google or Yahoo.

I decided to do it, since I made it crystal clear that nothing would happen on the SEO side. What else could I do? I can’t turn away cash – I’m not at that point yet. I could turn away cash for something immoral, but for something stupid – what I could do? This wasn’t my client. My client was the company calling me to fix it. They needed my help.

Long story short. I did all I could with the $300 they gave me over the first month. Two days ago the company told me – Oh, the owner isn’t putting any more money into this idea – he got no sales over this month at all.

Ha! Really? Was someone expecting sales within a month?

Wow. So, this is how not to start a business or even test an idea.

An idea needs time to get going. I have websites that have been germinating for 8 months now. It’s like they’re flowers waiting to sprout… they’re waiting for Spring… Internet Spring – which means – about 1 year.

Recently I saw big jumps in traffic to sites I’ve had for 2 years and 3 years. Nice jumps.

What I’m saying is… if you’re not going to put a ton of money into a site or idea to find out if it really works, then you MUST let it cook for a LONG TIME.

It’s one or the other. And, if you’re slow-cooking you need to be adding content, and optimizing the site over that year or two years.

The days of big success in less than 6 months are GONE for those without big cash reserves to finance it. Literally it’s not going to happen unless you win the lotto and you hit virally and blast off for pluto (which is not a planet anymore if you didn’t hear… lol).

There are so many people that have ideas and want to try them online.

There are so many people that don’t know HOW to go about it.

There are so many people that can use the EBusiness PRIMER 34 course here to learn everything they need to know to test their new business or idea and see if it’s going to work for them.

In this case the owner spent $300 on me + markup by the company + company cost to develop the site + copywriting + hosting + banner ads at other popular sites. He probably through away $1,000.

Instead, he could have spent much less than that on the EBusiness PRIMER 34 course and been able to do his own testing on many ideas from then on.

Oh wait, he blew $1,000. He could also buy the EBusiness PRO subscription for himself and both of these elearning courses for 2 of his best friends – all for about $1,000.

Don’t do what this guy did….
