My Twitter Page Has PageRank 7?

PageRank 7. Used to be not showing at all.
I’ve not twatted (rhymes with fat, not bought) much lately but I stopped by my Twitter home page and saw the page rank indicator for Google at 7/10. (see red arrow). That’s smoking. I’ve no idea why that happened yet, but I’ll look into it.
The link to my main AimforAwesome.com site is there on the right (blue arrow). If it’s a true PR7 I wonder why my PR dropped at AFA from a PR5 to a PR4 just the other day. Traffic has been increasing steadily regardless – but, just curious.
I think PR is fast becoming completely meaningless except as a barometer of whether Google has any love for your site at all. PR nothing sites may have done something wrong. PR1 sites are just starting out and not fully indexed yet. PR3 and above seems to be where most decent sites are.
PR7? That’s nice…
Real Time Search – A Game Changer

Microsoft’s Bing and Google just reached separate deals with Twitter for rights to index the Twitter data as it occurs… in real-time.
This is a game changer on a couple of levels.
1. People are going to tweet just to get into Google’s search engine results pages (SERP’s). It’s a game changer for companies that are looking to get into the Google and Bing search results pages. I don’t see the results in Bing yet, though some have said they are showing up for them. Google has yet to integrate Tweets into their results – but it will be interesting to see how they go about it.
Tweeting might have just become important to me again, depending on what the results show, and whether they are prominently placed. Links in Twitter will probably pick up some sort of value in Google’s eyes based on the number of times the link gets passed around – retweeted.
2. Less and less space is being used for organic search results in Google especially. Some companies are going to get pushed down, out of the sweet spot. SEO is becoming ridiculously hard to max out because there are no longer 5 or 10 slots that matter. There are just a couple.
I think small businesses – 1-10 employees are being hammered. It’s becoming more difficult to break into any online business that relies on the search engines. Companies must have budgets to hire people to do videos, images, and now tweets.
I think Google is favoring big business. Big business rules online, just as it did offline. It can’t be any other way, right?
If the Twitter results are really prominent displayed in Google results, whole businesses will develop to take advantage of this chance to get high placement in Google’s SERP’s. Heck, I might jump into that space if the getting looks good.
Will they rank the Twitter data higher than YouTube videos? Higher than image results?
Interesting to see what comes of this – the game is always changing!
Google Loves Twitter – 45 Accounts!
Google released their Twitter accounts so you can follow them if you have an interest. They forgot Arabia someone said, but there are 44 here anyway…
Web 2.0 Online Training Courses

Web 2.0 is the second generation of web development and design. This 2nd wave is focused on communication, information sharing over secure channels, interoperability between computer systems and software, and group collaboration online.
There is a need, if you have an online business or if you’re thinking about starting an ebusiness, to understand all the pieces in the big game. Part of Web 2.0 is social media… do you know what social media and the internet revolution means to your online business?
It means – swim or sink. It means if you don’t “get” Web 2.0, is it realistic to think you’re going to get Web 3.0? It’s coming – will you be ready?
If you don’t keep up with most of what’s going on you’re going to sink online… There will always be successful online businesses and these business owners are the ones that understand they have to keep up and adapt to all the changes taking place online. Gone are the days of flashing text on websites. Why? It was a novelty and wore off. Now it’s a death sentence to a site.
What are some more recent death sentences? Poor user experience, poor graphics, nonexistent SEO, broken links, sending spam offers.
Off-site there are a whole lot of marketing developments that are taking place. Facebook, Twitter, Squidoo, Delicious, Digg, Stumbleupon. There are more coming out daily.
Do you need to keep up with all of them?
Impossible. But, you’d better know what they are and how they can help your business. There are certain services you NEED to know how to use. You’d better understand Google and what it can do for you. You’d better understand Facebook. Twitter. Stumbleupon, Technorati.
“Web 2.0 is the business revolution in the computer industry caused by the move to the Internet as a platform, and an attempt to understand the rules for success on that new platform.” Tim O’Reilly
Over the next few months I’ll be releasing online training lessons for these essential services and some others that you need to get up to speed on.
Unfortunately as you’ve already found out – great information that’s put together in a logical way and that gives you the entire picture is not free. It’s very rare that you get it even when you pay for it. The problem is that content creators are looking at it from the wrong perspective – their own.
Elearning courses you’ll find here go from the perspective of newbie user. That doesn’t mean you don’t get the advanced level information – you DO. What it means is I go slowly and explain it all so you aren’t missing any pieces of the puzzle. You’ve got to know not only HOW to use online tools to help further the success of your business, but you’ve got to know WHY you’re using them so you know WHEN to use them and when to stop and move on to the next level.
Anytime you purchase any online course (Ebusiness 34 Lesson Primer or PRO Course) you’ll be able to contact me through the membership forum to ask questions about anything you don’t understand about the course – but also – any online business question you want to ask me. There is a group of professionals just like you that all know pieces of the puzzle interacting in the forum. It’s likely that we, as a group can help you with whatever problem you’re having.
Twitter Tips: Profile “Hot-words”
There’s been a lot of talk about successful Twitter users, power tweeters, if you will.
One way to gain more followers on Twitter is to use a biography in your profile so potential follwers can see what you’re all about. This works because people naturally want to follow those that can teach them something and those that are seen as authorities.
I’m slowly gaining followers at my Twitter ID:
You can see that I’ve included some information in my profile and it seems to be working so far. I’ve also customized the background image and put my logo for the Aim for Awesome site in the space on the left.
Here’s a recent post at Hubspot complete with graphs about what hot-words work and what doesn’t seem to work in your Twitter profile.
